Growing exhibition showcases Jewish artists
A record number of Jewish artists exhibited their work on May 28 at the launch of the Showcase of Jewish Artists exhibition at the B’nai B’rith NSW Centre. This year’s exhibition – held until June 4 – featured entries by 58 artists, not just from Sydney, but also for the first time from the Blue Mountains to Byron Bay, and even as far as Melbourne. B’nai B’rith announces art competition winners
This year the 27th Annual Jewish Youth Art Competition displayed a total of 220 artworks, including paintings, drawings, sculpture, mixed media, and photography, filling the Gallery of the Glen Eira Town Hall. Last year, 27-year-old Jarod Rhine-Davis, who graduated from Carmel School in Perth and now lives in Melbourne, won the B’nai B’rith Award for Leadership for his work in repairing relationships between the Australian LGBT+ and Jewish communities, and for facilitating cross-community collaboration opportunities.
