Celebrating 50 Years of B’nai B’rith Senior Housing!

2021 is an exciting year for B’nai B’rith’s Center for Senior Services (CSS), celebrating our 50th anniversary of senior housing! In 1971, we opened our first sponsored building, the Martin D. Popky B’nai B’rith Apartments in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. Today, we are the largest national Jewish sponsor of subsidized housing in the United States overseeing 38 properties.

#DYK? The Martin D. Popky B’nai B’rith Apartments in Wilkes-Barre, PA was the first B’nai B’rith sponsored older adult affordable housing property. It opened in 1971 and features 236 units. Martin D. Popky was instrumental in pursuing the housing program on behalf of B’nai B’rith and was the first board president. Read more »
