SAN BERNARDINO: Early leaders kept congregation alive
The new rabbi was not impressed. Looking at the mostly empty chairs that faced him as he addressed San Bernardino’s Congregation Emanu El, he made a crucial decision. He quit. At least that’s how it was reported in 1910 by the editor of the Los Angeles-based B’nai B’rith Messenger.
